Overview
Big Five first, then the coast: a malaria-free safari in the Eastern Cape, the whole Garden Route, the Winelands and Cape Town, driven at your own pace.
Collect the car in Port Elizabeth and drive to Kuzuko Lodge, the only lodge on a 35,000-acre private reserve in the Greater Addo conservation area, where the Zuurberg mountains meet the Karoo. Three fully inclusive nights with twice-daily game drives, San rock art and guided walks.
Then west along the coast: two nights in the forest at Nature’s Valley near Plettenberg Bay, a night on an estuary near George after Knysna, Sedgefield and Wilderness, and two nights in historic Stellenbosch among the wine estates.
The last day’s drive runs round the Cape Peninsula — Boulders Beach, the Cape of Good Hope and Chapman’s Peak — to three nights in Cape Town.

Days 1–3
Big Five safari near Addo
Collect your car at Port Elizabeth Airport and drive to the lodge, the only one on its 35,000-acre private reserve, which keeps guest numbers among the lowest in South Africa.
Twenty-four thatched chalets with private decks over the Karoo, each with a bath with a view, a walk-in shower, a tea and coffee station and Wi-Fi. Twice-daily game drives with a bush coffee stop and sundowners, San rock art in the sandstone caves, guided walks and self-guided hikes in the Hopewell valley, and a spa.

Days 4 & 5
Plettenberg Bay and Nature’s Valley
A last morning drive and breakfast, then along the coast via the Tsitsikamma National Park to a guest house in twelve hectares of gardens and indigenous forest on the edge of the park, near the beach village of Nature’s Valley.
A base for Robberg Nature Reserve, Monkeyland and Birds of Eden, the Knysna Heads, forest and beach trails, and ocean safaris or sea kayaking — with southern right whales in the bay in season.

Day 6
The Garden Route
Through Knysna, Sedgefield and Wilderness to a boutique hotel on a forty-hectare property on an estuary near George, home to the rare Knysna seahorse. Sunset cruises and kayaking on the estuary, or a fireside book. The Cango Caves at Oudtshoorn are an inland detour if you want them.

Days 7 & 8
Stellenbosch
Two nights in a pair of manor houses on the Eerste River in the centre of historic Stellenbosch, with gardens, pools and restaurants, galleries and boutiques within walking distance. Spend the full day on the wine estates — cellar tours and tastings of wine, olives and cheese.

Days 9–11
The Cape Peninsula and Cape Town
Drive to Cape Town the long way round: the penguins at Boulders Beach, St James, the Cape of Good Hope, Kommetjie, Chapman’s Peak and Hout Bay.
Three nights at an eighteen-bedroom boutique hotel in a national monument building in Oranjezicht, with a pool, and a rooftop deck facing Table Mountain, Lion’s Head and Devil’s Peak. Use the days for the V&A Waterfront, Robben Island, the cableway and the city.

Departure
Drive to Cape Town Airport, return the car and check in for your onward flight.
