Overview
A city, a wine valley, a mountain road and a lagoon, driven at your own pace with every night booked and the car waiting at the airport.
Three nights in Cape Town at a boutique hotel in Green Point, a short walk from the V&A Waterfront and the Bo-Kaap. Then inland to Robertson, on the Route 62 wine valley, for two nights on a historic wine and guest farm with the oldest cellar in the valley.
A day on the back roads follows: through Swellendam, one of the oldest towns in the country, over the Tradouw Pass and along Route 62 through Barrydale, Ladismith and Calitzdorp to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital, for a night at a tented game lodge on a waterhole.
The last three nights are on Leisure Isle in the Knysna lagoon, the base for the Knysna Heads, the Tsitsikamma forest and Plettenberg Bay, before you drop the car at George Airport.

Days 1–3
Cape Town
Collect your car at Cape Town Airport — or take a transfer and have the car delivered later — and settle into three nights in the city.
The hotel sits among trees in Green Point, within walking distance of the V&A Waterfront, the Bo-Kaap, the Cape Quarter and the city centre. Fourteen individually designed rooms with king-size beds, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi, a spa service and a full bar. Use the days for Table Mountain, Robben Island, Kirstenbosch, the markets, or sundowners on Signal Hill.

Days 4 & 5
Robertson wine valley
About two hours from Cape Town, Robertson is the heart of the Route 62 wine valley, a town of Victorian houses, roses and jacarandas. Visit the estates for tastings and cellar tours, picnic in the gardens, take a river cruise, or blend your own bottle.
Two nights on a wine and guest farm in the Langeberg foothills, with views over the vineyards and the Sonderend Mountains, the oldest wine cellar in the valley, and a country restaurant known for its seven-course wine-paired menu.

Day 6
Route 62 to Oudtshoorn
Coffee in Swellendam, then over the Tradouw Pass and along Route 62 through Barrydale, Ladismith and Calitzdorp to Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo, known for its ostrich farms and the Cango Caves.
One night at a tented game lodge 6.5 kilometres from town, on a waterhole with hippos and the Swartberg Mountains behind. Game drives, meerkat safaris and other activities can be booked at the lodge.

Days 7–9
Knysna and the Garden Route
Down to the coast for three nights on Leisure Isle, on the Knysna lagoon, looking out to the Knysna Heads and the Featherbed Nature Reserve. The Garden Route runs from Mossel Bay to the Tsitsikamma forest, with the suspension bridges, forest trails, Plettenberg Bay’s beaches and a ferry to the Heads all within reach.
The hotel has lagoon or garden-view suites, a terrace restaurant, a pool, and bicycles and canoes for exploring the island.

Day 10
George
Drive to George Airport, return the car and check in for your flight to Johannesburg or Cape Town.
