Two Botswanas in one week: the dry, open, migratory one, and the permanent water wilderness of the Delta. A twenty minute flight apart and nothing alike.
Leroo La Tau stands on the escarpment above the Boteti River, on the western border of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The Boteti is one of the far reaches of the Okavango, where the water filters out into the Kalahari sands; it stopped flowing strongly in 1995 and only came back in 2009. The park holds up to 30,000 zebra and wildebeest, and the predators that follow them. From June to November the dry riverbed is a major migration route, and there is a raised hide above the river for watching it happen.
Then a charter flight to Camp Okavango, on remote Nxaragha Island in the heart of the permanent Delta. Twenty-four guests maximum, eleven safari suites and one family suite on raised platforms under thick Delta vegetation. There are no roads here, so the activities are water-based and on foot: mokoro, boat cruising, guided bush walks, fishing and birding.
The rate is genuinely fully inclusive — meals, drinks including local spirits and wines, laundry, all park fees, airport departure tax, government levies, 12% VAT, and every charter flight.

Days 1, 2 & 3
Leroo La Tau, Boteti River
Transfer from Maun Airport to Leroo La Tau, which rises above the Boteti River on the western border of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Twelve chalets, each spacious and en-suite, built at the edge of the escarpment with glass doors onto a private deck over the river.
Three nights of guided day and night game drives, boat cruising and cultural excursions. Outside the migration months, day trips into Makgadikgadi or Nxai Pan National Park can be added. Evenings are at the fireplace overlooking the river, or in the raised hide above it.

Days 4, 5 & 6
Camp Okavango, Nxaragha Island
A charter flight from Leroo La Tau north into the heart of the permanent Delta, landing on Nxaragha Island.
Eleven intimate safari suites and one family suite, each on its own raised wooden platform beneath the Delta vegetation, with double vanities, a double shower and stack-away doors onto a private viewing deck. The main area is a network of walkways linking two lounges, a dining room, a library and a self-service bar, with ramps down to fire pits and a third deck with a rim-flow pool.
Three nights of fishing, mokoro, guided bush walks, birding and boat cruising.

The high season premium is steep because it is also when the migration is on the Boteti and the Delta flood is at its peak.
