Overview
Zambia at ground level, driven end to end. It costs less per night than the fly-in equivalents, and you see the country between the parks instead of flying over it.
It opens at Victoria Falls from the Zambian side, at a resort built along the edge of the Zambezi with walking access to the falls. Two nights with the guided falls tour, a sunset cruise and a 15 minute helicopter flight already included.
Then a three hour transfer to the Dundumwezi Gate and a game drive into southern Kafue — the remote end of Zambia’s largest national park, on the edge of a seasonal floodplain among jackalberry and sausage trees. Armed guided walks, day and night drives, park excursions and village tours.
A full day’s guided drive through the park takes you to northern Kafue on the Kafue River, to a camp of four safari tents on three-metre platforms over a lagoon, where boat cruises and fishing join the drives.
A night in Lusaka with a city and cultural tour, then two nights in the Lower Zambezi for game-viewing cruises, canoeing, tiger fishing and birding. Elephant, buffalo, hippo and crocodile are year-round residents; lion and hyena are regular a little further downstream inside the national park.

Days 1 & 2
Livingstone and Victoria Falls
Met at Livingstone Airport, about 20 kilometres from the resort, which is built along the edge of the Zambezi on the eastern side of the falls with direct walking access on foot. Open, airy en-suite rooms with balconies onto either the bush or a landscaped pool, and vervet monkeys around the bar.
Included: a guided tour of the falls on the Zambian side, the African Queen sunset cruise on the Zambezi, and a 15 minute helicopter flight over the falls.

Days 3, 4 & 5
Southern Kafue National Park
A private three hour road transfer to Dundumwezi Gate, then a 90 to 120 minute game drive into camp. Timings depend on what you stop for.
Three nights in the remote southern section of Kafue, on the edge of a large dambo among jackalberry and sausage trees. Four chalets and two Meru tents, all en-suite with hot water. Armed guided walks, morning and late afternoon game drives, night drives and park excursions; birding walks, Lake Itezhi-Tezi and a cultural visit to Shezongo village can be arranged.

Days 6 & 7
Northern Kafue — the Kafue River
A full day’s guided drive north through the park with a picnic lunch, which is a game drive in itself.
Two nights in four en-suite safari tents on three-metre stilts above the ground, looking over a lagoon and out to the plains. Day and night drives, boat cruises, fishing with basic equipment and bait included, walking safaris, and a visit to the donation-based Mukambi Community School.

Day 8
Lusaka
A guided transfer to Lusaka — about 275 kilometres — with a city and cultural tour including lunch on arrival. The hotel sits in the Arcades shopping and entertainment complex on the Great East Road, with shops and restaurants on the doorstep.

Days 9 & 10
Lower Zambezi
A guided transfer of about two and a half hours from Lusaka into the Chiawa Game Management Area on the Lower Zambezi.
Two nights in air-conditioned chalets or thatched tented chalets with views over the Zambezi, and a main lounge, dining and bar area on the river. Game-viewing cruises by boat, canoeing, bird watching, tiger fishing and sunset cruises — or the pool and your own veranda. Elephant, buffalo, hippo and crocodile are seen all year; lion and hyena regularly a little further downstream, and leopard and wild dog are not unusual.

Transfer back from Kiambi to Lusaka Airport for your onward flight, or for onward arrangements if you are continuing.
